Lexicon. Youโ€™d think it wouldnโ€™t come up much, but there I was, watching an episode of Property Brothers on HGTV, and after the reveal they were talking about how they had so much more โ€œspaceโ€ฆโ€

This is from Creature Comforts, a short similar to Wallace and Gromit by Nick Park and his Aardman clay animation crew. As the jaguar speaks, the Brasilian accent is vital.

The Oberkassel puppy

From my friend David D Levine comes a pointer to this post about a poignant burial site โ€” which includes the oldest record we have of a domesticated dog. The skeleton of a puppy, from 14,000 years ago. Plus a woman in her twenties, and a man in his forties. Buried โ€œwith honour and ceremony.โ€

But thereโ€™s no question the dog was domesticated. It was nursed โ€œthrough three bouts of distemper when it was four to five months old.โ€
